A New Generation of homebuyers have begun to enter the marketplace. Typically between the ages of 25 to 35, these consumers are interested in high-tech amenities that we have not previously seen standard in homes. Some of these amenities include “structured” wiring for high speed data and computer networking, an audio system distributed throughout the home, a dedicated media room, security systems, and automated control of many different home systems. St. Louis Homes & Lifestyles reports that this new generation of homebuyers “have come of age alongside laptops, faxes, and the Internet. Many can’t live without easy access to technological devices.” Structured wiring systems make it easy to network computers together in the home to share files or a printer, and they support digital satellite, home theater, and high speed Internet access. This new generation of homebuyers is also interested in warm, cozy environments that are inviting and suitable for home entertaining. Lighting systems, audio throughout the home, and media rooms allow these home owners to entertain at their home, rather than in a restaurant or at a bar. August Systems, a local Columbia business, specializes in these structured wiring systems, lighting control systems, distributed audio systems, media rooms, and home automation.
Bridgid Miller of August Systems states, “We have found that people are more concerned with how they will use their home in the future. They understand that technology is changing, and they want to be prepared for these changes.”
Since 1996, August Systems is Mid-Missouri’s only full service home systems company. We design easy-to-use electronic home systems that enhance our customers' entertainment, convenience, and security.
